Of all the stats that appeared today, having 15 break point chances for me was a good one. He converted 5, so that could leave you going, huh? Only 5?? But considering Rafa's recent form, it shows you just how many opportunities he's creating for himself through his good, hard work. It's still all stepping stones and there's still a mixture of shots that make you go eeek, whilst others make you go WOW!! But again, the commitment and effort was greatly on show today and how much he wants it. I'm liking the body language. I'm liking that he's showing passion.
It was a bit of bummer when Rafa got broken in the second set, but it's almost like he gritted his teeth to kickstart himself back into the set again, and whilst he didn't make the first initial break back, he got it the next time. I think Dimitrov helped to talk himself into some rough play which in turn helped Rafa. But that was another match that continued his steady progress.
Keep knocking on that door, Rafa.
