Back home ...

Rafa returned home to Spain today ... to Barcelona.

And no doubt a visit to the doctor. Sigh.

  1. On David Nadal's twitter today, he posts comments made by Toni, saying Rafa will be back and practicing this week -- that the knee is not in worse shape and will decide what tournaments to play in the future. Some encouraging words, but he really says nothing. Sometimes, I wish Toni would stop talking to the press.

    1. I'm not Toni's biggest fan, and I think he does more harm than good with the things he says. He's feeding frenzied masses and headlines are created that Rafa isn't injured. We have eyes, we saw how bad he was. He should just repeat the line as Rafa did that he wasn't discussing the knee.

    2. I'm surprised that Benito doesn't tell Toni to keep his mouth shut -- isn't Benito the PR person here? Boy, Benito had a bad day today! First, Rafa, then Vika, then Tipsarich all finished at Wimbledon. Incredible day today -- so many upset or injured. Tough to watch today.

Toni is really pissing me off--again. "Rafa didn't win because his attitude wasn't the right one." And went on to say Rafa didn't win because he didn't give his customary 100%. Now, that is something Rafa has always been proud of doing--giving it his all. Rafa said he gave "100% of what I had."

Rafa said he wasn't going to talk about the knee; he also said he would decide after tests what cours of action was best for his knee. That doesn't sound as if nothing's wrong.

But, of course, Toni, that garrulous windbag, has to run his mouth, and in so doing denigrates (again!) his nephew and contradicts him.

Benito couldn't shut him up after last year's exit from Wimbledon, and we all remember the conflict that Toni's inconsistent pronouncements caused then. Someone just put a bag over his head, please!!!

  3. On David Nadal's twitter page today, Rafa says that he does not have to agree with what his uncle says. Good for Rafa! Rafa states that he's going to rest, enjoy family and friends and then start practicing. Hopefully, all is well with him. It's time to disregard Toni and his fame whore statements. Let's just wait for Rafa to react. Good feelings.........
