Quiver to the Max!! - The £2.00 a minute match ...

Well, we enjoyed all the reports that Rafan brought us from the O2, but the only ticket she had bought to watch the action was for Sunday's match against Fish.

But as the countdown began to the Federer match, she couldn't resist and spent the princely sum of £120.00 to go and sit in the Gods. Only Rafan being Rafan, well ... she went to the Box Office to plead vertigo and to ask if there were any tickets "downstairs" that she could perhaps swop with. There was. Five rows from the front!! She didn't write a report of the match, but here are her musings ...
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

The quickest £120 I've ever spent - £2 a minute for that! I'm just pleased that at least those 60 minutes were spent near the front rather than half way up the back in the Gods. Didn't he do well? (Feds I mean). Poor old Rafi. I haven't read a presser, or been able to see the video posted of the presser, but from the comments it seems that Rafa says he was fit and healthy, but I wouldn't really expect him to say anything else. I think he respects Roger too much to take away from that victory, and Roger was also very nice about Rafa on court at the end. It's not his fault that the Sky reporters all over him - and he had one of his "couldn't miss" matches.

I'm sure Rafa is suffering the after effects of Sunday and the season in general. He didn't chase the ball as it whistled past him, and towards the end of the match at change of ends he was sitting with his arms resting on his legs and head down.

I haven't got tickets for Thursday night. And I'm NOT, I repeat NOT, going to buy one. Because I don't know if I even want Rafa to win. I know that's awful to say, but I just want him to escape the cold mist and get to Spain with his boys and win the DC. The only outcome I can see if he wins on Thursday is facing Djokovic in the semi on Saturday.

Next year I'm just going to go up on the days before the tournament, go up for practice and then watch the matches on telly…

Honest ... *whistle*
