I had the luxury of a week off last week so I was able to watch all of Rafa's matches, but sadly I was back at the coalface again today. I haven't watched Rafa's match yet but I did manage to listen to it ... in between Mark Petchy's "commentary" with Fabric Softener about getting tickets to see One Direction and how long he estimated it would be before Andy Murray was on court. I roll my eyes ...
I'll catch up on it later, and the 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 scoreline speaks for itself. I did see a stat that he was at 50% for first serves at one point, and finished the match at 63%, so you still have to wonder. Murray was serving at a similar stat today himself too. So it's the expected quarter-final for him against David Ferrer, and I don't have to say it really, but Rafa will have to be on his game. Daveed's done what Daveed does ... quietly doing the business away from the spotlight because he's never given a spotlight to perform in. Will the Monte Carlo result be a factor? Possibly, because Daveed these days most certainly has tactics to take it to Rafa. It all starts to get pretty serious from now.
The Prince of Darkness had apparently given fellow Serb Lajovic "classified" tips on how to beat Rafa. Rafa wouldn't speak too much about the back given the scoreline he handed out today and out of respect to his opponents.
Speaks volumes ...
