Semi-final similarity ...

And another victory to Rafa.

There's only so long that Feds can keep it competitive with Rafa, and this time he lasted till the 9th game. When Rafa stood to serve for the first set, I just knew he'd fluff it, and he did. A bit of nerves, a bit wobbly ... but like the champion he is, he broke straight back and didn't make any mistakes the second time around and took the first set 7-5. It was only a matter of time then, really. There's this continual feeling now that Feds is just clinging on in these matches, whilst Rafa can always raise it a couple of gears. Federer never worked hard enough to try and find an antidote to Rafa and now he never will. The H2H extends even further, and I would question the "rivalry" of it now. Rafa finished Federer off 6-3 in the second set.

Another final. Wowsers, Rafa, you are just amazing. That's no. 14 for him this year and it is fitting that he finishes the season in one. A special player, and a very special man. Fingers and everything else crossed that he gets the reward he so deserves tomorrow night.

VAMOS RAFA!!

  1. He is indeed a very special man. I hope and pray that tomorrow, finally, he can lift that trophy that has eluded him thus far. I want that for him more than anything. He so so deserves to win this one.

  2. So do I. I won't be able to watch it live due to work..but I'm almost grateful (recording, of course)...I've come to just absolutely despise Djerker. I know that's not what a Rafa fan should say but...ugh. Sorry, no more negative here. Thank you Rafael Nadal for the most wonderful exciting nail-biting year of tennis ever!
