In a truly nice gesture today, the Roland Garros authorities put on a lovely show to wish Rafa a "Happy Birthday".
Apparently, this is the first time that Rafa has actually played a match on his birthday, so following his match against Kei Nishikori, a special presentation was made.
Rafa was presented with a huge cake, gifts and flowers, and the crowd - yes, the Roland Garros crowd!! - actually joined in to sing Rafa, "Happy Birthday" or "Joyeux Anniversaire".
That was a nice departure, so let's hope it continues.
Rafa was asked by Cedric Pioline whether 7 pm was his actual birth time, so he wasn't quite 27 at the presentation.
Rafa said he wasn't sure, he couldn't remember it. :D Winning the match and playing so much better is a gift in itself, but let's hope he's had a lovely day ...
That smile of his is just precious. Love him.
