Roland Garros ... the draw

Well, you must have been living under a rock today if you haven't heard the draw by now. Of course the whole drama really centred around which half of the draw Rafa and the PoD would be in, and it turned out to be the same. So if they both get that far, it would be a semi-final match for them. More of that in a little bit.

So who else could be Rafa's possible opponents? Well, we know who will be up first, the German Daniel Brands. Never heard of him, but I've read that he's one of those Tall Players and seeing as that will be the match I hope to be seeing in Paris, we won't have a repeat of that John Isner heart stopper of the other year, Rafa ... do you hear?

After that it could be Fognini, Paire (again) or Nishikori, Stanford/Janovic/Gasquet in the quarters, the PoD in the semi and Smugly or Ferrer in the final.

Kindly old Uncle Feds has got the cakewalk of all cakewalk draws, and so what? He did in Rome last week and that didn't exactly do him any favours, did it? Besides, he could face Jo-Wilfrid Tsonga in the quarters, so that could be tricky. The PoD could get Dimitrov, but although he beat him in Madrid, I seriously don't expect the same over 5 sets when Grigor was cramping after 2. David might find his draw tricky, with Raonic, and Rolf. And a 0-14 H2H against Feds doesn't bode well.

But it will be "that" semi-final that everyone will be concentrating on. I'm not bothered that Rafa has to face him then because I figured that he'd have to go through him at some point to win. I don't feel there'll be as much pressure as in a final, and to be honest, if the worst possible thing happened (and UNJINX TO INFINITY AND BEYONDDDDDDD!!), I much prefer that Rafa wouldn't have to hang around on court to witness that thing holding the trophy. Plus, even beating Rafa means there's still one more player to negotiate.

No ... Rafa will be fine. The Masters this year have thrown up a number of shocks, so who's to say this Slam won't do the same?  However, it is hard to see past the top 3 at least getting there, but if anyone can, RAFA CAN!!

VAM8S and good luck, Rafa!! It will be a tense two weeks for us, but we're ready to be stapped into that RafaRollercoaster. Let's do this, Rafa. COME ON!!!
