Rafa at the Bernabeu ...

Rafa was at the Bernabeu tonight to watch his beloved Madrid as his daily dose let us know via Facebook ...
"Taking advantage that I'm in Madrid, I couldn't miss this great Champions match!"
Now Real Madrid should have been afraid ... very afraid. Cos Rafa has only just broken his jinx in that the team always lost whenever he showed up to watch them.

But I think the person with the biggest egg on their face tonight ... belongs to me. :-/

For some reason, I'd been convinced all day that Manchester City were hosting Real Madrid tonight. As half the time I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch anything relating to City, I'd been watching "Come Dine with Me" rather than the pre-match build up. So when I saw a tweet from @emmg8492 with a picture of Rafa and a Real Madrid player I thought ... *gulp* ... is Rafa really in Manchester tonight and therefore 45 minutes away from me!????!! *screams*

But then Emma broke it to me that the match was - in fact - being played in Madrid. Doh! But what a laugh we had on Twitter in the aftermath. Hehe ...

Although when City went 1-0 up, I thought Rafa had brought his jinx back to town. But then yeah! 1-1. To shortly being followed by *boo* ... 2-1. To then yey! ... 2-2. And then would you believe it? Wonderful Cristiano Ronaldo and Football Wooffs' former Manchester United favourite came up and scored the winner. Cue VAMOS and fistpumps galore. And that was just me ... *cough* I'm sure a certain someone in the stands also joined in. Brilliant! ... and I hope Rafa enjoyed every minute.

@genny_ss posted this video clip of Rafa giving his half time analysis, and its lovely to watch him again. Sans the hair gel ... ;)

  1. Perhaps the hair gel is the jinx. Certainly it is hard on the eyes -- and the knees, I'm tellin' ya, gel is killer on the knees! Tennis players should avoid it! *hint, hint* *nudge, wink*

  2. I'm sorry, I just have to ask - what's he sitting on? Five cushions? 20 mattresses and a pea? And why?
Those are very relevant questions, you know...
