Oh yes! Wait a minute Mr Postman!

Now when you hear rat-tat-tat on your door at 10.09 am on a Saturday morning and even your dog making silly crying noises from 8.25 am just because she wants to climb into bed with you hasn't made you get up, you just lie there and think, "they'll go away".  Because anyone who knows me would never, ever, evah! deliberately get me out of bed at that time on a weekend.

But whoever it was, was pretty persistent. Rat-tat-bloody-tat again. Gaah! So I got up to have a sneaky peek through my Venetian blinds, couldn't really see anything, but then I heard my neighbour, Clare, from across the street say, "I'll take it in for her". Good, old Clare, I think ... its some post, I'll pick up later. Yes ... I really am that self-absorbed. But then I heard Mr Postie say, "No, its OK. I think she's coming!"

Thwarted!!  I'd been seen peeking out of the window!  Let that be a lesson to you folks ... naughty, self-interested thoughts get no reward. *tapsnose*

So I stagger downstairs, pull on a fleece to try and disguise the fact that I'm not wearing a bra, opened the door, took the package, signed and waved Mr Postie on his way ... all without making eye contact. ;)

But what could it be? I mean, I knew I hadn't purchased anything so wasn't expecting a delivery of anything. So I tore open the package and there they were ...

*yahoo*      MY OLYMPIC TENNIS TICKETS !!!!!      *yahoo*

Its funny. Of course I know the Olympics is coming up, and that I've got tickets for the 3rd round, or 4th round or some round! But having them there in my hand, well, the excitement suddenly kicked in, my tummy did a little flip of excitement and its all suddenly very real now. I'm going to Wimbledon on perhaps the only time in its whole history - ever! - where tradition is thrown out of the window; where you can buy a can of Coca-Cola from a drinks stand, where even Ronald McDonald will put in an appearance, where there won't be a white emblazoned tennis player anywhere ... and where this proud English lady will be decked out in Red and Yellow, with Spanish flags and pom poms at the ready to "VAMOS ESPANA" till I can't shout no more!!

Be sure that whole experience will be put on here. I can't wait!!
