Close to perfection ...

Although of course Rafa was at pains to point out it was nothing like that. But how awesome was he today??

Sometimes you just run out of superlatives to describe him, but here's a few offered up by none other than Eurosport commentator Frew, yes Frew "I-love Federer-and-I-don't-care-who-knows-it" MacMillian.

1. "Magnificent doesn't do him justice"

2. "King of Clay"

3. "King of Roland Garros"

Love it! :D

Little David Ferrer has also been having a fantastic Roland Garros, reaching the semi-finals for the very first time and playing exceptionally well. Whilst I felt that Rafa had enough within him to beat David, I expected at least a tight first set and for David to push him hard. But not today, and as my new favourite commie - Frew McMillan - said, whilst we've seen him hit off the ground as fabulous as he did today, what we also saw was a display of some phenomenal serving. So if you add the two together, it resulted in the mighty impressive 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 victory. Don't take it too much to heart David; you are better than that and never gave up trying or running. Rafa was typically a ruthless giant on the court, and caring friend when it was all over.

He's peaking magnificently in this tournament and I'm actually a bit dumbfounded about what to say of his performance today. A sheer and utter fantastic display of genius clay court tennis.

So who does he meet in the final. Well, of course its him again. Feds was utterly pants today, totally out of his depth and devoid of all ideas. I'm feeling fine about it all so far, but will probably lose sleep tomorrow night. I need to go out and find every single type of *hiding* smiley I can find for use on our Rafateers forum on Sunday ... because most of us will be spending it in a cupboard.

As your fans Rafa, we can only ask and hope that you can do it all again for just one more match. Bonne Chance and Vamos Rafa! You can DO it!!
