OK ... I said that Rafa was done with talking about it - the blue clay that is - but you might be interested in reading this New York Times article about it.
From what I glean, "blue is the colour" seems to be more about what is a preferential palate to the television viewer - or that is how it is seemingly being sold, regardless of whether Tiriac thinks it offers an "improvement" for the players.
I just think there's plenty of gimmicks and razzmatazz elsewhere at other tournaments if you want to make more of an entertainment statement about tennis. But then again, the Magic Box is a relatively new arena which to be honest, holds no interest to me whatsoever to visit as the general paying public seemed to be herded into the seats way up at the top whilst the glitterati are given prime position in their steel cages below.
I mean ... even the abundance of flower boxes in the arena don't seem to work against Djokovic any more since he found his miraculous "allergy" cures. :D
I'm still looking forward to it starting though ...
