I still haven't seen Rafa play in Miami yet. :( This time the wimmins matches went on forever, and it got too late to stay up to watch. But whilst Rafa ran out the winner by a 6-2, 6-2 scoreline which might have suggested more of the "Ruthless Rafa", it seems that it was anything but.
Rafa was pedestrian in his play and rather workman-like. But he's been beating Radek Stepanek for years now, so its probably fair to say that it would have been a huge shock for any other result. He meets Kei Nishikori in the next round.
Rafa has also got Shot of the Day for one of his signature bendy forehands down-the-line. A stunning, specular piece of skill.
