FerWatch ...

Well, we caught up with Feli in that he was training for Australia in Miami ... but what of our lovely Fer??

Well, Fer is flying the flag for Spain as he is competing in the Hopman Cup with Anabel Medina Garrigues. The format is 1 x ladies' singles match, 1 x men's singles match, ending with a mixed doubles. Their first opponents were the home side of Australia, and whilst Anabel lost her match, Fer fought through and defeated Lleyton Hewitt 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, breaking Hewitt in the last game to take the match. Bravo Fer!!

The pairing then took to the court for the doubles, where a set was won by each team, meaning it went to a winner takes all tie-break. The Spanish duo had earlier faced a match point, but came through in the breaker to win!! China are their next opponents.

How wonderful ... its worth the win to have Fer hug you tight to his chest. *thud* Mind you, Anabel is reported to have said this of Fer ...
"Fernando is always late. ALWAYS!!"
Now there's a thing ... *whistle*
