Rafa ends 2011 with a victory ...

Well ... that was a bit better, wasn't it?

Rafa finishes the year with a straight sets victory over his old foe, Roger Federer by a 6-1, 7-5 scoreline. He did seem much improved on yesterday with his serve a bit more solid, and his backhand was firing quite nicely and a fair few winners were hit. However, I have to say that Federer's play was woeful. Mind you, him wearing his Rolex is a sure fire way of knowing that he wasn't taking it seriously. ;)

In his on-court interview Rafa seemed to be saying that he would be treating Doha as some more practice, but I hope the shoulder doesn't bother him too much.

So that's it ... its over. Munch on your grapes at Midnight, Rafa, (or whatever it is that Spaniards do), and we'll all be here to support you and wish you well in 2012.
