Journey to the Brain of the Machine ...

Funny title, yep, but as Rafa's book is launched in Spain this week, its co-author - John Carlin - wrote this piece for El Pais Semanal where he described the background behind writing it. The link is in Spanish, but its not too bad to read when you put it through some translation and my funny title of the post comes from a mangle.

One quote from it resonates because its exactly what I felt and how I came to Rafa. Its this one ...
"... That was the era of John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg. Those who followed - Stefan Edberg, Pete Sampras, Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi even - I was excited by them. Not at all with Roger Federer, though I don't hesitate to admit that I have never seen a player to play the sport with more beauty, elegance and naturalness. To me what woke me from my sleep, my boredom even, what made me fall in love again with tennis was the arrival on the scene of Rafa Nadal ..."
Good bloke, that John Carlin. ;) And the wet shirted Rafa isn't bad either ...

  2. Erm ... with what Nike have done to him this year in his clothing, Angie ... he has!!!!!

About time they sorted that out on a serious note. Barcelona football club are complaining with about the extra weight their Nike shirts make them carry due to sweat.
