For the 25th time, Rafa and Feds faced off against each other and although its now clear that our Rafa was perhaps having a little trouble with his focus due to the passing of Seve, he got an early break and was leading 4-2 when Feds got himself back in the set. There was a break back, it went on serve, but at 5-5, Rafa had 4 break-points but couldn't convert. And would you credit it, he got broken on his next service game and therefore lost the set, 7-5.

Rafa, however, raced ahead in the second, and Feds displayed some utter petulance regarding balls he said were out - which were subsequently proved to be in - and was generally outplayed as Rafa quickly brought the match back level with an emphatic 6-1 scoreline.

A break in the third and solid play by Rafa brought the win and made the H2H a nice comfortable statistic of Rafa winning twice as many matches against Feds as he has lost.

So its once again a Rafa-Novak final. Who was awful for a set and a half, but a slack service game and a tweaked groin helped him come back in his match against Bellucci. But this time its on clay, Rafa is conditioned and he will have the might of the Spanish crowd behind him.

I hope you're thumping your chest later, Rafa. VAMOS!!!
