Rafachat and Rafathreads ...

I don't know about you guys, but when I started supporting Rafa I ploughed a lonely furrow in doing so. My friends aren't particularly into tennis, and nobody could quite either understand or share my fanaticism for Rafa. I eventually found myself on a tennis forum on the internet, and I slowly started to post my views on Rafa.

A dedicated thread specifically for Rafa was then born, and whilst I was very nervous at first, I started to join in and post my comment. Eventually, a little band of friends was formed who came daily to share our thoughts, feelings and views on Rafa and tennis - we called ourselves "The Rafateers". And from a simple chat thread, some real life friendships have been developed, and although we are in different parts of England, we regularly meet up either in the North in Manchester, or in the South in London to eat, drink, have a laugh and make merry ... all in the name of Rafa.

We go to tennis tournaments together in England, and last year we made the trip to Rome. Now we are excitedly on countdown as we look forward to our latest trip to Monte Carlo in 5 weeks' time.

And all this was born out of a simple thread ...

The forum where we all met is to close shortly, and so this week we found ourselves a new home on a new site. We've been given our own little corner on the Tennis page, and can indulge in our Rafachat thread, the Rafatennis thread and the Rafa Ranking Watch. In an act of shameless self promotion, would any of you reading here like to join us??

I am thrilled no end that my little hobby here attracts views from all around the world, and as you have this obvious interest in Rafa, would you like to share it?

We would love to have new members and to make new friends in sharing our support and appreciation of Rafa. Try not to be shy, its open 24/7, so give us a go ... we would love to make you welcome.

Vamos Rafa!!!
