The defending Wimbledon champion took to the Centre Court today 2 years later to defend his 2008 crown. Welcome back Rafa.
He returned to the rapture that he deserves as we love him so much in the UK, and he got off to a flying start against his first round opponent - Kei Nishikori - as he took the opening set 6-2 in just over half an hour. They matched each other to 4-4 in the second till Rafa broke and served out for the second. He then broke serve again in the first game of the third, but lost his own a little later until he once again broke at 4-4 and served it out.
To think I stood next to this man on Sunday and then you see him as you usually do ... down the television screen. I called my puppy Rose, "Rafa" tonight. Am I obsessed?? Anyhow, Rafa marches on to the next round.
