One week ago we witnessed Rafa in a presser withdrawing from Wimbledon, talking about how he had been playing in pain over the last weeks, how he had reached his physical limit, how it was revealed in Madrid that he had two endemas one on either knee, that maybe they made mistakes with his scheduling ... need I go on?
But now there are alarming reports leaking out of Spain that Rafa has asked the Davis Cup captain, Albert Costa, if he can withhold from submitting his team selection till after Sunday as Rafa would like to see if he could make the team for the tie against Germany ... in two weeks time!!!
Personally, I'm rather annoyed by this as last week it was reported that Rafa was 3-4 weeks away from fitness (and I even thought THAT to be optimistic). Although there is another report doing the rounds today suggesting that Rafa won't make it.
