I've talked a little bit about the Rafateers ... a play on words of the Muskateers, "All for one, and one for all" and all that. The play on words is reflective of us, as we are a merry band of fans that follow our lovely Rafa.I've met some great people by becoming a member of the Rafateers, Mrs L being one of them. She has a turn of phrase and wit that I find incredibly appealing, and this year's Wimbers with Feds' ever increasingly ridiculous outfits left him open to a vast array of mickey-taking. Mrs L suggested he looked like Clarence, a character created by Dick Emery, and I ... who never needs much egging on ... promptly found some YouTube clips.
What resulted was a hilarious thread on BBC606, which we both got embroiled in with ever increasing hilarity. It survived one trip to the Moderators, laid buried within 606, but towards the end unfortunately it (and we) got trashed by other posters, but its purpose of poking fun at this ridiculous, pompous creature remains as the topic of the thread.
I wouldn't want such work on both our parts to go lost, so I've added it here. I hope it manages to stay for a long time ...
