Rafa's daily dose ...

"Today working out in the gym! Practicing hard to come back 100% on court!!"
Gulp.

Not sure I have any more words. ;)

Rafa was also busy on Twitter/Facebook yesterday congratulating David Ferrer ...

"Very happy because Ferru won in Paris!! Great season! I wish you the best for the masters friend!"
I'm very pleased for David because it caps a very good year for him. I know this victory has caused quite a few rumbles as he closes in on Rafa in the rankings, but to my understanding, he won't overtake him for the 4th spot before the Australian Open unless he gets to the final of the WTF. Considering how much tennis David's played of late, I'm not sure that he'll do that. Equally, I think we'd better get used to the idea of Rafa perhaps dropping a spot because with a final to defend at the AO, I think its almost inevitable that it will happen afterwards. And I'd also rather the Paris points went to David than either of the other 3 being able to put even more daylight between themselves and Rafa.

  1. I agree with you.
I also fear that the AO may not be in Rafa's future this time. Still no court practice, and we're 2 months away from Oz. I don't see it happening, really I don't. Very unhappy to say so...and hope I am wrong.

  2. As I've always maintained, I do not mind whichever number appears besides Rafa's name. If he is fit and healthy and back on court that is enough for me. I'm a big fan of David too, if he gets to be number 4, it will be because he deserves to be there, but, at the same time, he will have a lot of points to defend next year, whilst Rafa, in the second half of the year post-Wimbledon, can only gain. It will be a very interesting 2013 tennis year.
