I don't mind admitting that I shed tears tonight.
I think it was just utter disappointment that I felt for those boys, being so so gutted for them. Desperate that match points came when they weren't on their racquets, to have fought back to level once more when France were serving for it ... it must be utterly heartbreaking for them.
To be honest, forget that they should feel proud, forget that they still have the chance of a medal ... we're talking an Olympic final here. And they miss out.
The final scoreline was 3-6, 6-4, 16-18. Sixteen bloody eighteen. Its madness isn't it, what we saw today? Where's the drama in something just becoming a tit for tat when it comes to games. Too cruel.
Feliciano and Daveed, I salute you boys. You've been on a massive journey, you showed courage and fight and honour. I hope that you can find some strength within you to try your best for that bronze medal. You deserve it boys. Fabulous display, hard luck ... you did yourselves and Spain proud.
