Lovely Rafa ...

Aaaah ... do you think Rafa is patting the side of the bed asking us all to join him??

He posted this picture on his Facebook today, along with this message ...

"Last days have been very hard... Thanks to all for your support messages!!!"

Your heart aches for him, doesn't it?? We've all had disappointments in our lives, and we overcome it ... and Rafa will this. I do fear though that there's still a couple of hard days to come. I don't think till it actually starts, it will hit him fully. And when Team Spain enter that arena on Friday night with someone else leading them out carrying that flag - forget that its his very good friend doing it - I bet there's some quiet reflection.

I read a quote today from Paul Gasol where he said that although Rafael Nadal won't play in the 2012 Olympics, he will also be carrying the Spanish flag with him.

*sob*

Those of us going will still support Rafa as best we can. The Games will miss him, tennis will miss him, and we will miss him. But he's made of the right stuff, and he'll get through this.
