Rafa's Q&A with The Age ...

Remember the days when Rafa used to do Questions & Answers in The Times? I do ... well I should, I count myself as being very lucky as Rafa answered quite a few of mine. None more so than last years Australian Open where I was very lucky.

Now I'm all for a bit of shameless self-promotion, so my favourite of all last year's AO questions was this one ...
Hola Rafa!! After your second-round match you said that in your downtime, you'd like to go to the aquarium. When I visited Melbourne, I didn't go although I was told it was amazing. Why do you find it so particularly fascinating? Love, Wooffs

RN - I love the sea and I love fish. I enjoy very much watching everything there. The penguins were funny and amazing. But the whole thing is really cool.

... and then I was thrilled to see the pictures when he did eventually go. How cute!! And I don't just mean Rafa and Maymo ...

As Rafa seems to have severed all ties with The Times now, it was interesting to see the Q&A pop up again, this time with The Age for the English version. Here's a link to the article in question.

I have to say, that I'm really enjoying the Q&A this time round, mainly because there's some really varying questions which are quite good, but more so in that whilst Rafa eventually got a bit staid in his answering when on The Times, he seems to be giving much fuller answers now, which is great for us fans and I'm sure thrilling for those who asked it.

He's also getting feisty. Get a load of this one ...
Question from John Kiprov: Why are you the only player out there that always mentions his own injuries? For example, "A train ran over me but I managed to play a great game. A piano fell twenty stories on my head but I still managed to play a great game". Why do you do this? It seems that after every match you bring this nonsense up.

Rafa says: I don't think I talked about any injury yesterday. But what do you want me to do if I was injured, had a strain on my knee and get the question from the media? If I am not asked I don't say and if I am asked I have one thing clear: I don't lie, I never lie! Would you prefer me to lie?
Put John Kiprov back in his box Rafa!! Soxy!! Rafa the only player that mentions his own injuries ... what a hoot!

Anyhow, if any of you would like to ask Rafa a question, then email him at sport@theage.com.au Good luck!! I've had a go ... obviously. ;)
