The Semi-Final ... and Andeeee ...

He made it ... to the semi-final. Do we ever stop being proud of this boy? So on his 25th birthday Rafa took to the court against Scotland's Andy Murray and the pair prepared to do battle.

Andy tore an ankle ligament last weekend and whilst he's managed to play through it, surely it had to play some part in working towards Rafa's favour. And from the start of the first set it seemed to do so as Rafa raced to 5-1 with Andy serving. So then it was 5-2 with Rafa serving for the first set. And would you credit it, his nerves and that bloody serve meant he lost it. 5-3.

Then it was 5-4 as Andy won his service game leaving Rafa to once again serve for the first set. And thank the Lord he finally squeezed it.

An early break in the second should have been something to build on, but then it was I'll take your serve and then You take mine, so the second set became like a game of chess. So yep ... as it always is, clunk-click into that Rafarollercoaster. But with seemingly a second set tie-breaker looming ... Rafa stepped up and took it 7-5, even though Andy had a massive amount of break points.

To be honest, we had to breathe easier after that because all things considered, I didn't think Andy had the fitness to ever stretch Rafa to 5 sets, so the question was whether could Rafa finish him off quickly. And he took one break of serve to do it and won out with a third set scoreline of 6-4.

But all the drama was in the other semi-final ... Djokovic vs. Feds. Can't stand the pair of them. I've a long established dislike of Federer but Novak post-Miami has just raised my distaste of him to new heights. So I found myself in the awful position of actually cheering Feds on. And he did it. He ended the Djokovic streak and made it to yet another Fedal final. Boo hoo Novak. And you didn't make it to No. 1 yesterday either ... *heart bleeds*.

So there we have it ... Rafa vs. Fed and the stats evade me without checking, but its something like 5-2 to Rafa in Grand Slam finals. I actually expect this one to go all the way ... will the weather go against Rafa, the crowd certainly will be. But Rafa can only do his best, as he always does ... and friends, readers of this blog, lets strap ourselves in for a bumpy ride tomorrow.

But come on Rafa ... you can do it, you can DO it!! VAMOSSSSSS!!!!
