Spain 4 : Belgium 1

Its true ... Rafa is surrounded by stardust ...

My stream was so bad today that I could barely follow the match, but Rafa ran out the easy winner by a 6-4, 6-2 scoreline against Oliver Rochus. The stream calmed down for me to watch the 4 games, and Rafa seemed to be moving well around the court and using all parts of it, and he won the match by a lovely down-the-line forehand that even Rafa seemed to appreciate.

In the final rubber, Deliciano Feliciano Lopez played Mr Darcy and oh Feli ... what can I say? He won the first set on a breaker, broke in the second and stood to serve for the match. And lost serve to love. In the ensuing tie breaker, Feli was mentally all over the place and was quickly down 5-0 ... but he crawled it back to 6-5 and thus had a match point. But lost it, and then the set. The final set also ended in a tie-breaker which Feli lost 7-3 ... and he all but stormed off court.

A sore point to an otherwise good day by Team Espana, but Spain are through to the quarter finals and an away tie against the United States.
