Fever! In the morning and fever all through the night ...

Oh Rafa!! I didn't get to watch any of the match till the third set when Rafa was 4-0 up. And although I'd been watching Livescores and saw that he won the first set in a tie-break, but was 2-0 down, it was still a shocker to turn on the tellybox and see that he'd lost the second set via a bagel. *yikes*

I have to say that Rafa looked dreadful. Completely covered in sweat, with dark eyes and bending over to cough. Oh dear, I've never seen him sick like that before. When he lost one of the breaks in shocking style you just wondered if he could hang on in there. But Lukas Lacko might be able to play tennis, but his conditioning and fitness was not enough to take him through the match. Rafa's iron will saw him break his opponent and he took the match by a 7-6, 0-6, 6-3 scoreline.

After seeing the state of Rafa in that match, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that he went right on back out there to play his doubles. Sure, he and Marc! won easily in about 35 minutes, but the stubbornness of that boy knows no bounds. If he's able to recover for tomorrow, fair enough ... but sometimes you just have to let sickness happen, Rafa. The AO is a week on Monday ... come on, you've bigger fish to fry ...
